“He’s a Martyr of Truth and Freedom” — President Trump on the Assassination of Charlie Kirk | The Gateway Pundit

Charlie Kirk traveled to campuses across the United States, engaging students in direct, intelligent debate.

Unlike mainstream media and left-wing pundits, he did not avoid people with opposing views.

During the four years of the Biden administration, the dominant issues were lockdowns, vaccines, school closures, and homeschooling.

Yet the mainstream media never gave interviewed doctors or scientists who opposed lockdowns or vaccines, nor did they interview parents advocating homeschooling.

Instead, they dismissed them as “Christian nut jobs” who wanted their kids to grow up ignorant.

Charlie Kirk took the opposite approach. He debated these and all topics openly, presenting data and facts in defense of homeschooling.

For example, homeschooled students typically score 15 to 25 percentile points higher than public school students on standardized tests.

More than 78 percent of peer-reviewed studies show that homeschooled students perform significantly better than their public-school counterparts.

These are the kinds of truths Kirk spoke on college campuses, and for that he was vilified.

Ultimately, he was killed for speaking truths the left did not want heard.

Charlie Kirk exposed that the left cannot debate without resorting to insults, cries of “Hitler,” or empty slogans like “hate speech.”

When challenged to name anything Trump ever did that was racist, or anything Kirk himself said that was “Nazi,” the crowd could never provide an answer beyond vague accusations like “you sow hate.” But there was no hate, only debate, and the left couldn’t engage.

President Trump honored him, saying, “He fought for liberty, democracy, justice, and the American people. He’s a martyr for truth and freedom and there’s never been anyone who was so respected by youth.

Charlie was also a man of deep, deep faith and we take comfort in the knowledge that he is now at peace with God in heaven.”

Charlie embodied everything the left is not, and everything the left hates. He was a Christian, he held values and stood firmly by them, and he debated from a position of knowledge and data.

Countless videos show him asking leftists a simple question: “What is a woman?” Not only could none of them answer coherently, many refused outright, dismissing it as “clickbait” or accusing him of “stoking hate for trans people.”

But Kirk was right: you cannot argue for “women’s rights” without first defining what a woman is.

You cannot claim men and women are equal while also claiming men can become women, or that men can bear children.

These are contradictory beliefs, and Charlie Kirk called out their illogic.

For that, they hated him. And in the end, they silenced him with a bullet, because they could not defeat him in debate.

“Charlie Kirk traveled the nation joyfully engaging with everyone interested in good-faith debate.

His mission was to bring young people into the political process, which he did better than anyone, sharing his love of country and spreading the simple words of common sense.

On campuses nationwide, he championed his ideas with courage, logic, humor, and grace,” said President Trump.

Engaging directly with those who disagreed was the cornerstone of Charlie’s mission.

No one on the left does that. Not even the mainstream media is willing to interview credible voices who oppose left-wing narratives.

Trump was right when he warned, “It’s long past time for all Americans and the media to confront the fact that violence and murder are the tragic consequence of demonizing those with whom you disagree day after day, year after year, in the most hateful and despicable way possible.

For years, those on the radical left have compared wonderful Americans like Charlie to Nazis and the world’s worst mass murderers and criminals.

This kind of rhetoric is directly responsible for the terrorism we’re seeing in our country today, and it must stop right now.”

The left silences dissent and opposition by vilifying anyone who dares to disagree.

If you believe George Floyd died of a fentanyl overdose, they call you a Nazi. If you say only women can have babies or acknowledge that men are generally bigger and stronger than women, they call you a Nazi.

If you demand accountability for government waste and insist on cutting bloated programs, they call you a tyrant.

President Trump is right to identify the political violence coming from the left: “My administration will find each and every one of those who contributed to this atrocity and to other political violence, including the organizations that fund it and support it, as well as those who go after our judges, law enforcement officials, and everyone else who brings order to our country.”

Following career-criminal George Floyd’s fentanyl overdose and death while resisting arrest in May 2020, public figures openly incited violence.

Colin Kaepernick rejected appeals for peace, declaring that “revolting is the only logical reaction” and pledging to fund legal defense for rioters, whom he called “Freedom Fighters.”

Rep. Ayanna Pressley went on MSNBC to say that “there needs to be violence in the streets for as long as there’s unrest in our lives,” words delivered while riots were already raging nationwide.

Rep. Maxine Waters, speaking during Derek Chauvin’s trial in April 2021, urged protesters to “stay on the street,” “get more active,” and “get more violent” if the jury did not convict-remarks the trial judge warned could undermine the entire case on appeal.

Waters had previously told crowds in 2018 to harass Trump officials in public places.

The real-world results of this rhetoric were catastrophic. The 2020 BLM riots spread to more than 200 cities, with Portland alone enduring over 100 consecutive nights of violence.

Nationwide, the unrest brought hundreds of nights of destruction, $1–2 billion in property damage, at least 25 deaths, over 2,000 injured law enforcement officers, and more than 16,000 arrests during just the first three months.

Celebrities fueled the fire by promoting violent “resistance” and raising bail money for rioters. These were direct encouragements to violence that poured gasoline on cities already in flames.

Trump said, “From the attack on my life in Butler, Pennsylvania last year, which killed a husband and father, to the attacks on ICE agents, to the vicious murder of a healthcare executive in the streets of New York, to the shooting of House Majority Leader Steve Scalise and three others, radical and political violence has hurt too many innocent people and taken too many lives.

Tonight, I ask all Americans to commit themselves to the American values for which Charlie Kirk lived and died, the values of free speech, citizenship, the rule of law, and the patriotic devotion and love of God.”

Trump and the DOJ are going after everyone who incited and funded violence. Charlie Kirk’s death will not be in vain. It will mark a turning point in American history, one that can usher in a new era of rationality, honesty, and true freedom of speech and political thought.
