We’re proud to have added Māori to Google Translate over ten years ago, helping people learning Māori, Māori communities, and New Zealand translators. Recently, we’ve added Fijian, Tok Pisin, and other Pacific Island languages, benefiting even more people across the islands. Our New Zealand team has also started grassroots initiatives, such as “Te Reo Tuesday” and online training modules, enriching our understanding of Māori culture. We know there’s still more to do and are open to ideas and thoughts for the future of te Reo Māori. Together, we can make a difference in preserving and promoting this beautiful language.
