SSL/TLS

Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) and its successor Transport Layer Security (TLS) are cryptographic protocols that provide secure communications over computer networks, most notably for HTTPS.

Key Features:

  • Encrypts data in transit
  • Authenticates servers (and optionally clients)
  • Prevents eavesdropping and tampering

Example:
“Always check for TLS 1.2 or higher when entering sensitive information online.”
